November 17 to January 2019
Visit the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens to experience the festive mood of Perth. The garden is a 5-minute drive from Joondalup and offers many activities like Mini Golf, on-site dining, witnessing the Christmas lights and 7 meters high Christmas Tree.
The garden has a nominal charge of $4 unless you are dining at the restaurant or playing mini golf, in that case, it is free.

2. Candlelight and Christmas Parade

3. Murray Community Christmas Celebration
5 December 2018- 5 to 7 pm
Welcome the joyful sound of carols with Murray Community Christmas Celebration. This annual festival has a beautiful venue by Murray River with many entertaining live events, stalls, food trucks and of course Santa and his little helpers. Last year, the celebration welcomed over 1000 attendees, united to celebrate and provide the Christmas cheer. Feel like you wish to have a celebration that is close to the Australian community, then Murray Community Christmas Celebration is the place to be.
Note: It is held annually at the Cantwell Park.
4. St Patrick’s Mount Lawley Christmas Festival
9 December 2018 – 3 to 9 pm
This is a free festival for all residents, travellers, backpackers, from all around the world. The St Patrick’s Mount Lawley Christmas Festival occurs annually at the Beaufort Street with many fun activities. You can find the local food vendors, wine bar, live entertainment, food vans and artisan stalls. This is basically everything under one roof.
Note: At dusk, You can also join in the Carols by Candlelight.
5. Rockingham Christmas Lights Festival
15 December 2018
This event features the inauguration of the city’s Christmas light with a great Christmas Parade, providing fun activities, a festive shopping experience with community stalls of handmade items and food vendors. If you only wish to see the city come alive, you can watch the parade from 5:30 pm, in Village Green. The parade features Santa (of course), along with other community groups, singers, local dancers, and sports groups.
6. Orphans Christmas
This is not an event but is an Australian tradition. Orphans Christmas is to gather a family in the absence of a family. People with no family around, call people over to someone’s house and celebrate Christmas together. This is a wonderful way to meet new people for backpackers and travellers.
